This Privacy Policy describes how Bazaarlytics Analytics & Consulting Private Limited ("Company", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, stores, and protects your personal data when you use the YaariPics platform ("Service").

By using YaariPics, you consent to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. This policy complies with the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information You Provide

• Phone number — used for WhatsApp-based authentication and identity verification.
• Name (optional) — if you choose to set a display name.
• Event details — event title, date, cover image, and settings you configure as an Organizer.
• Media — photos and videos you upload to an Event.

1.2 Information We Collect Automatically

• Device & browser information — browser type, operating system, screen resolution, and language preference.
• Usage data — pages visited, features used, timestamps, and interaction patterns.
• IP address — used for security, abuse prevention, and approximate geolocation.

1.3 Face Recognition Data

When the Organizer enables People Tiles on an Event, we process photos to generate face embeddings (mathematical representations of facial features). These embeddings are used solely to group photos of the same person within a single Event. We do not identify individuals by name, and we do not share face data with any third party.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To authenticate you via WhatsApp phone verification.
• To create, manage, and display Events and their media.
• To group photos using face recognition (when enabled).
• To communicate with you about your account or Events (e.g. OTP codes, storage expiry notices).
• To improve the Service, fix bugs, and develop new features.
• To prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access.
• To comply with legal obligations.

3. Data Storage & Retention

• Media & Event data is stored for the duration specified by the Event's Plan (48 hours for free tier, up to lifetime for Yaar Forever). After expiry, data may be permanently deleted.
• Account data (phone number, display name) is retained as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service.
• Face embeddings are deleted when the associated Media or Event is deleted.
• OTP codes are automatically expired and purged after 5 minutes.

Data is stored on servers located in India and/or in jurisdictions that provide adequate data protection. We use industry-standard encryption for data in transit (TLS) and at rest.

4. Data Sharing & Disclosure

We do not sell your personal data. We may share information with:

• Service providers — hosting, storage, payment processing, and messaging providers who assist in operating the Service, under strict contractual obligations.
• Event Participants — Media uploaded to an Event is visible to other verified Participants of that Event, as configured by the Organizer.
• Law enforcement — when required by applicable law, court order, or to protect the safety of our users.

5. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
• Delete your account and associated data by contacting us.
• Withdraw consent for face recognition by asking the Organizer to disable People Tiles for their Event.
• Data portability — request a copy of your data in a commonly used format.

6. Cookies & Tracking

We use essential cookies to maintain your session (authentication token). We may use analytics cookies to understand how users interact with the Service. You can control cookie settings through your browser. The Service does not respond to "Do Not Track" signals.

7. Children's Privacy

YaariPics is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

8. Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), secure server infrastructure, access controls, and regular security reviews. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Third-Party Links

The Service may contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those websites. We encourage you to review their privacy policies.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date and, for material changes, notify you via the Service or email. Continued use constitutes acceptance.
